I want to dye my hair before next week and I don't want to have to spend a lot just on getting my hair blonde. So, Is there some secret way to bleach your own hair or do it yourself?

i'm a friggin redhead too, and i wish somebody had told me that it was going to be practically impossible to lighten my hair.

i went to a professional and she only managed to make my hair look orange!! 0_0

i didn't want to bleach it either cuz i thought it might look too light and i wanted like golden blonde only, so i dyed it with a regular blonde box dye and it looke MORE orange.

then i started using 10% hydrogen peroxide, which doesn't damage your hair and you can use it even twice a day, but the thing is that didn't do the trick either. same with lemon.

THEN i found the borne blonde kit and i was like d'oh!!

it's really powerful and it made less damage to my hair than anything else i used. plus it comes with its own conditioner and everything. and if you need to be blonde by next week i think it's pretty much your only option!!

you should go to a professional hairstylist,because going blonde can be tricky especially if you have color on your hair now. you could try a partial highlight of foils and gradually go blonde but don't do it yourself

GO TO A SALON!!! DO NOT.. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THE DYE FROM A BOX. IT TURNED MY HAIR LIKE A YELLOW / ORANGE COLOR. AND NOW MY HAIR IS RUINED!!

well, you obviously know you HAVE to bleach it. theres no way of getting around that.

i would definetly go to a salon. we have better products, and we know what we're doing. there are specific ways to apply to make sure you dont get hot spots or breakage. if you do it yourself you can really destroy it, it could come out a bad color, your roots will probably be lighter than the rest, and it probably wont lift evenly. its worth going to a salon, because if you do it yourself, you'll probably end up there anyway getting it fixed.

trust me. bleach isn't something you want to mess with.

go to a salon or a hair stylist because they know what they are doing. or you can get one of those little boxes at a drugstore or something

I have auburn hair also. I decided I wanted to go blonde a while back. What you can do, use a box of color for highlights. (you could also do an overall lighter color as well if you like) I had my professionally done, but I've been doing that for a while now anyway. Have a friend help apply the highlights, either with a brush or cap (whatever is provided). Keep an eye on the color while waiting on the hightlights. Be sure to use a shampoo for lightened/blonde hair otherwise the highlights will turn brassy.

I am glad that I didn't go all the way blonde, but it's still light enough to acheive what I wanted.
